March 13, 2007 - Daffodil Day Celebration: Cancer Survivors Honored with Flowers
On Tuesday, March 13th, Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to honor patients, loved ones, staff, and community members living with or who have lived with cancer by presenting them with a bouquet of daffodils. The celebration began with Shannon Lee of ACS educating participants of the various services ACS provides for cancer patients and their families. A cancer survivor also spoke about her own personal experience. Participants were given the opportunity to meet and mingle over refreshments and were finally presented with the daffodils.
The daffodils, a symbol of hope, were generous donated by individuals and organizations. The donations also fund cancer research, education programs, advocacy, services for cancer patients and their families, and further the American Cancer Society’s mission.
