Filipino Family Caregiver Holiday Event
A gift of caring for our family caregiver
December 14, 2011
Los Angeles, California (December 14, 2011) – Join Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) for a special holiday event celebrating our Filipino Family Caregivers on December 20, 2011. As part of APHCV’s Filipino Family Caregiver program is part of the Alzheimer’s Association Asian Pacific Islander Dementia Caregiver Network (APIDCN) and is partially supported by the Weinberg Foundation.
Those who are caring for a spouse, parent, relative, or other family members with dementia and other forms of memory loss such as Alzheimer’s disease, are informal caregivers. Informal caregivers often provide round the clock service for their loved ones, including safety supervision. As the condition of loved ones advances or worsens, the demands of care giving become more intense and strenuous. Caregivers, themselves, have a tendency to experience feelings of stress and exhaustion and be overburdened physically, emotionally and psychologically. The demands and commitment of caring for a loved one with dementia often leads caregivers to neglect their own health and personal needs.
On December 20th from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM, Filipino Family Caregivers will be treated to a fun-filled, educational and raffle-laced holiday event at the APHCV – Los Feliz Health Center. Let us take care of you and show you how much your family and community appreciate the work you do in caring for your family. For more information about the event or the Filipino Family Caregiver program, please call Perla Reyes, Care Advocate, at (323) 644 3880 ext. 341.
