Our Medical Services
Asian Pacific Health Care Venture provides a full lifecycle of primary health care services. Care is provided in twelve Asian and Pacific Islander languages, including Bangladeshi, Cambodian, Cantonese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Tagalog, Thai, Urdu, Vietnamese, as well as English and Spanish.
Managed care organizations have certified our quality of care with generally 95% to 100% audit
ratings. We also adhere to federal standards for more than 15 Lifecycle measures of care as a
federally funded Community Health Center.
Our medical services include:
- Comprehensive
Primary Health Care - Basic medical care, including routine check ups and screenings. Patients are also referred for Specialty Consultation to community and University-based Specialists.
- Pediatric - Our board-certified pediatricians provide care for babies and children, including walk-in immunizations, growth and developmental assessment, and health services for wellness and illness.
- Prenatal -
Our providers offer specialized care for women, including pregnancy testing, prenatal care, and family planning. Babies in our Prenatal Program are delivered at nearby hospitals.
- Women's
Health - We provide breast and cervical cancer screening, including clinical breast exams, mammogram, and pap smear. We also provide hormone replacement therapy and other OB/GYN services.
- Youth - APHCV offers a youth clinic night every Wednesday evening from 5-7pm. Services include immunizations, regular check-ups, sports physicals, acne treatment, emergency contraception, pap smears, pregnancy testing and counseling, birth control methods including condoms, STI screening and treatment, and anonymous/confidential HIV testing and counseling. For more information about APHCV’s youth services, visit www.realyc.com.
- Senior
Health - Our board-certified Internist with 3 years additional fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine from the National Institutes of Health, John Hoh, M.D., provides senior-sensitive and senior-friendly medical services.
- Behavioral Health - APHCV offers integrated behavioral health services in which primary care providers and a licensed clinic social worker (LCSW) work as a team for the overall health of the patient. Referrals are made for more serious mental illnesses.
- HIV/AIDS - APHCV offers confidental and HIV counseling and testing and integrates HIV/AIDS education and prevention, STI education and treatment, and tuberculosis detection and treatment at our clinic and offsite environments. For more information on HIV counseling and testing services, contact (323) 644-3880 ext. 242.

Services are offered conveniently on campus for Marshall High School students as well as King Middle School, Irving Middle School and Le Conte Middle School students. Here, parents do not have to take time off to bring their children to appointments and students miss fewer classes. All services are free and confidential. These services include:

Meet Our Providers
APHCV's team of health
care providers are composed of physicians and nurse practitioners.
Nurse
practitioners are registered nurses (RNs) who have received
advanced training in various health care
specialties, including child health, family practice,
and elder health. Nurse practitioners provide
health services independently and in collaboration with
other health care providers, such as
physicians. Our Nurse Practitioners have access to and
consult with physicians at APHCV
throughout the day.
Due to quality of care, APHCV's providers have achieved
an extremely low rate of hospitalization
of relatively sick patients. The quality and low cost
of care are chief reasons why patients continue to
come and refer their friends and relatives to APHCV.
