APHCV serves thousands of women, men, and children who have gained access to health care through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obamacare. Because of the ACA, people are able to receive affordable and comprehensive treatment for chronic conditions, preventive care such as cancer screenings and immunizations, and regular physical check-ups.
There have been policy moves to repeal the ACA in Washington, D.C. Such repeal will send all of us back to the days when the uninsured seek care in emergency room, people with pre-existing conditions could be denied health care coverage, and many “curtailed” their health care because they could not afford. The proposed budget reconciliation around the ACA puts 20 million Americans at risk of losing their health insurance, including 10 million Americans with Medicaid. This does not include the additional 10 million Americans who had individual policies before the ACA that are now in jeopardy due to the proposed repeals. Urge your Congressional leaders to protect the health of your family, friends and neighbors.
