HEALTH ALERT - H1N1 (swine) FLU 
What is Swine Flu?
H1N1 (previously called “swine flu”) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. The virus was originally thought to be a new flu virus from pigs. It has been discovered that the H1N1 virus is a mixture of influenza genetic material from pigs, birds, and humans. The virus is contagious and spreads from human to human contact, just as regular seasonal flu. Mexico has been affected the worst. It had the earliest cases and the most deaths. It is now causing illness in at least 21 countries at close to Pandemic level.

Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) is pleased to announce receipt of $1,300,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to establish a New Access Point (NAP) clinic. 
APHCV is one of 126 community health centers, nationwide, selected through a competitive grant application process to receive this funding as part of the ARRA. This funding will create access to health care services for over 3,000 low income and uninsured individuals and create over a dozen new jobs. Read more...
Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) is proud to announce
the purchase of a new administrative building located on 4216 Fountain Avenue. Administrative staff such as the Chief Executive Officer, Human Resources, Fiscal, and Fund Development departments will be moved from the main Hillhurst site. The move is expected to begin in mid-April.

PacifiCare/UnitedHealthcare has awarded Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) $299,393 to fund APHCV's "Information Technology Advancement Project for Business Continuity and Electronic Health Record (EHR) Preparedness." project to increase technological capacity for disaster response and data security. Gentle Yoga
Thursday morning: 9:30-10:30 am
Fees: $7 per class (non-APHCV patients)
$5 per class (APHCV patients,
18 years and older).
FREE for APHCV senior patients
(55 years and older).
Community participants have the option to buy a $90 yoga card for 10 sessions (total savings of $10).
