Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. is proud to be a Co-Presenter of the 26th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival which will take place beginning April 29th through May 8th. The Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival was created in 1983 as a vehicle to promote Asian and Asian Pacific America cinema. NEW PROGRAM – Asian Pacific Health Care Venture partners with Alzheimer’s Association to implement the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Dementia Care Network, Filipino Family Caregiver Program 
Most frail adults are cared for by family, relatives and friends who are non-professional caregivers. This is a challenging and difficult task for many who often neglect their own needs, including their health. The goal of this new project is to outreach, educate, and support Filipino family caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s Diseases and other forms of dementia. Read more...
2010 APM Calendar Now Available! 

100% of the proceeds from the sale of the 2010 Asian Pacific Male Calendar benefit Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, to provide low cost health care to the underserved. The calendar features former Survivor winner Yul Kwon, filmmaker Edward Gunawan, model Thomas Livezey and actors Ji Han and Daniel Ichikawa.

HEALTH ALERT - H1N1 (swine) FLU 
What is Swine Flu?
H1N1 (previously called “swine flu”) is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. The virus was originally thought to be a new flu virus from pigs. It has been discovered that the H1N1 virus is a mixture of influenza genetic material from pigs, birds, and humans. The virus is contagious and spreads from human to human contact, just as regular seasonal flu. Mexico has been affected the worst. It had the earliest cases and the most deaths. It is now causing illness in at least 21 countries at close to Pandemic level.

Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV) is pleased to announce receipt of $1,300,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to establish a New Access Point (NAP) clinic. 
APHCV is one of 126 community health centers, nationwide, selected through a competitive grant application process to receive this funding as part of the ARRA. This funding will create access to health care services for over 3,000 low income and uninsured individuals and create over a dozen new jobs. Read more...

Community participants have the option to buy a $90 yoga card for 10 sessions (total savings of $10).
