How to get Health Coverage in the Time of COVID-19
Los Angeles, CA – It’s important to sign up for ongoing, comprehensive health care coverage for care that you may need for COVID-19, and all other health needs. California has many options available for health coverage. It’s more important than ever to get covered because of COVID-19.
Covered California has extended its enrollment period through June 30th, 2020. Coverage may be more affordable than ever due to state subsidy enhancements enacted this year. Coverage will start on the first day of the following month from the day that you apply.
If you have lost employment or had a decrease in your income, you may now qualify for Medi-Cal. Medi-Cal enrollment is open year round and provides comprehensive coverage at no cost for those who qualify. Coverage is retroactive to the first of the month in which you applied.
If you don’t have health coverage and need to seek medical care related to COVID-19, you may qualify for Medi-Cal Presumptive Eligibility (PE). Presumptive Eligibility provides temporary coverage for people who seek diagnostic testing, testing-related services, and treatment for COVID-19.
At Asian Pacific Health Care Venture, Inc. (APHCV), Enrollment Workers are eager to help with your health insurance needs. For more information, call (323) 644-3888 for an enrollment appointment or consultation. We offer bilingual assistance in Cantonese, Khmer, Mandarin, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese.

COVID-19 Testing
Due to the shortage of test kits nationally, APHCV does not provide COVID-19 Testing at this time. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LAC DPH) advises that mild cases of COVID-19 will not be tested. Severe COVID-19 suspect cases are referred to the Emergency Department where COVID-19 testing is performed. Due to the high risk of spread, LAC DPH also advises that home care is provided for mild colds, flu, and COVID-19 disease like symptoms. APHCV is offering telephone visits with our providers for your convenience and access to care. Please make an appointment by calling (323)644-3888 if you need care.
